Schermerhorn Symphony Center Lover!

I guess this is just a “get to know me” blog, more or less.  I do lots of talking about the Nashville Real Estate Market, since I am a Realtor, but a lot of you don’t know that I have a degree in classical piano performance.  That’s right.  I am a classical music junkie!

My mother gave me musical instruments to play with since I was an infant (she is quite musical herself!) and she claims that I would never take a nap, but just hum or sing in my crib during the required nap hour.

Formal piano lessons started at age 6 and I have never looked back!  During the summers in high school I would go to various piano camps and spend time with renowned pianists – it was great fun and I met a lot of great people and learned how to practice hard!  I went to college on a full music scholarship and graduated at the top of my class.  I have taught lessons for 13 years in addition to the real estate.  I even notice the acoustical elements of the houses I sell!

My favorite composers are Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Prokofieff, Grieg, Ravel, Khatchaturian, J.S. Bach, and Bartok.  You can see I mostly love the romantic and modern composers…

I hope you have been to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center – it is AMAZING!!!  And such a great tribute to not only our beloved former conductor, but also to our Music City.

Today music remains a big part of my being and my life.  I love to go to hear the Nashville Symphony play, and love going to the Symphony Ball.  I also continue to play myself, either with bands or piano study groups.  Even played a couple of nights ago for a political rally.

If you are a music buff then let’s talk some classical music!
