There’s no better city in the country to celebrate the 4th of July then in Nashville, TN! The Live music, the fireworks, the downtown buzz is truly an experience to be had. So if you live here in Nashville or are planning to visit for Independence Day then here is a calendar of main events!

 July 4th, 2013

Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration

Location: The Lawn at Riverfront
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2013
Time: gates open at noon, fireworks show at 9:45 pm

The celebration will be held at The Lawn at Riverfront for the second year! Hailed as one of the best fireworks displays in the nation, this event is one of Music City‘s best events. Festivities begin at noon with the free Family Fun Zone. Pre-show live music runs from 1 pm – 7 pm featuring Joey DeGraw, Chris Mulkey and Deluxe and more. The official main stage concert begins at 6:45 pm with Striking Matches, Keb’ Mo’, The Band Perry and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. The celebration concludes with longest and largest fireworks display in the city’s history choreographed to the sounds of the Nashville Symphony playing on the banks of the Cumberland River at approximately 9:45 pm. 4th of July Fireworks Party

Watch the fireworks away from the crowds and enjoy one of the best views of downtown on the 20th floor of the Nashville City Club. The club has great views that overlook the Cumberland River and LP Field! Tickets include a dinner buffet and one specialty drink ticket. Plus, fun kids’ activities, live music, and complimentary parking (first come, first served) in the building’s garage.

 

Music City July 4th 5K/10K

Location: Public Square

All ages and fitness levels will love running past landmarks like the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Ryman Auditorium, and Country Music Hall of Fame in this event. Every participant will receive a complimentary t-shirt, a collector’s cup and a finisher’s medal when they cross the finish line. The Pour House of July: Rockin’ the 4th

Location: Pour House Nashville: Burgers, Bourbon and Brews

String City: Nashville’s Tradition of Music and Puppetry

String City: Nashville’s Tradition of Music and Puppetry, a colorful telling of the history of country music in Nashville, will use numerous marionettes, hand puppets, rod puppets, shadow puppets, and more. String City was created by Wishing Chair Productions in partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and was made possible by the Nashville Public Library Foundation and Judy and Steve Turner.
